Liam Hetherington
Experienced Bartender & Cocktail Specialist
The Stannary Vault
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in the Bartender position at The Stannary Vault. Having worked across busy hospitality venues in Manchester, including high-volume cocktail lounges and traditional bars, I am eager to bring my background in cocktail preparation, stock control, and guest service to your team.
In my current role as Lead Bartender at The Copper Still Lounge, I prepare classic and bespoke cocktails in a fast-paced 120-cover venue while maintaining speed and presentation during peak service. Working closely with the bar manager, I collaborated on quarterly cocktail menu redesigns and created four signature serves that boosted premium spirit sales. I also train incoming bartenders and barbacks on station setup, syrup preparation, glassware standards, and Challenge 25 compliance, ensuring the dispense area runs smoothly from opening to close.
Alongside cocktail service, I maintain strict operational and cellar standards. My daily and weekly routines include conducting spirit and cellar inventory counts, logging waste, and assisting with routine distributor stock orders. Previously at The Irwell Foundry Tavern, I handled cellar lines, cask tapping, and scheduled line-cleaning cycles, giving me a solid practical grounding in draught management alongside my mixology experience. Backed by my Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) Level 2 and WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits, I ensure all bar operations meet licensing regulations and food hygiene requirements.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my cocktail experience, cellar care, and day-to-day bar discipline would support service at The Stannary Vault. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Liam Hetherington
