I am writing to express my interest in the Youth Counselor position at Beacon Youth Wellbeing Centre. As an MBACP-registered practitioner with extensive frontline experience across Greater Manchester, I am drawn to your service's focus on offering dedicated individual guidance, trauma-informed interventions, and responsive support to young people navigating complex emotional distress.
In my current position as Senior Youth Counselor & Clinical Team Lead at Pennine Reach Youth Trust, I direct clinical counselling provision and community support programmes for over 180 adolescents experiencing severe emotional distress, anxiety, and school disengagement. In addition to supervising casework, I act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing statutory referrals to Manchester Children's Services and leading risk assessments for high-needs cases. This work has deepened my ability to establish safe, structured therapeutic containment and provide compassionate care in demanding community environments.
Prior to this, at Bridges Youth & Family Services, I delivered individual solution-focused and integrative counselling sessions to 65 young people aged 11 to 19 presenting with complex trauma and behavioural issues. In that role, I worked in close partnership with local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and school pastoral teams to coordinate crisis management plans, while facilitating weekly psychoeducation workshops for parents and carers on attachment and adolescent crisis de-escalation. I look forward to bringing this collaborative, multi-agency approach to your therapeutic team.
