Understanding your rights: Cancellation vs. Withdrawal

German and European consumer law provides two distinct methods to end a paid subscription: Ordinary Cancellation and the Statutory Right of Withdrawal.

1. Ordinary Subscription Cancellation

Ordinary cancellation is the standard way to stop future recurring subscription charges when you no longer need Pro or Ultra:

How to cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time through either of two routes:

1. In-App: In your Jobaria dashboard, navigate to Settings → Billing and choose Cancel Subscription.
2. Public No-Login Cancellation Form: In accordance with BGB §312k, you can visit our public cancellation form (linked in the site footer) and submit your contract details without logging in.

Effects of cancellation

• Access remains active: You retain full Pro or Ultra access and your current AI allowances through the end of your currently paid billing cycle or prepaid year.
• No future charges: Automatic recurring renewals are immediately disabled.
• Annual subscriptions: Cancelling during the initial 12-month prepaid year stops the automatic conversion to the discounted monthly rate and keeps your access active until the full 12 months conclude.
• Instant confirmation and receipt: If you use our public cancellation form and your details match an active contract, you receive a receipt and an email confirmation stating your exact effective termination date.

2. 14-Day Statutory Right of Withdrawal

Under European consumer protection regulations (BGB §356 and §356a), you have a statutory right to withdraw from a newly concluded paid subscription within 14 calendar days from contract conclusion, without giving any reason.

How to exercise withdrawal

You can submit your withdrawal declaration through any of the following methods:

• Public No-Login Withdrawal Form: Submit your name, account email, and contract identifier directly via our public withdrawal form (accessible via the site footer).
• Email: Send an unequivocal declaration to [email protected].
• Post: Send your written declaration to Jobaria's operator address listed in our Terms of Service.

Full refund policy (No deduction for usage)

• 100% Reimbursement: We will refund all payments received for the cancelled subscription without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving your declaration.
• No usage deductions: While consumer law permits charging compensation for services already supplied (Wertersatz), Jobaria voluntarily waives this right. You receive a complete 100% refund even if you used AI features during those 14 days.
• Same payment method: Refunds are issued directly to the payment method used for the original transaction via Stripe.
• Immediate effect: Paid Pro or Ultra access ends as soon as the withdrawal is processed, returning your account to the Free tier.

Expected result

Upon ordinary cancellation, your dashboard confirms that renewal is stopped while keeping your access active until the indicated period end. Upon valid withdrawal, your declaration is acknowledged immediately, your paid access terminates, and a 100% refund is initiated to your original payment method.

Troubleshooting

• If you cannot find your contract identifier for the public forms, check your contract confirmation email or log into the dashboard under Settings → Billing.
• Unmatched cancellation requests receive an on-screen acknowledgement and do not send automated emails; ensure your account email is typed accurately.
