Rename, duplicate, download, and delete cover letters

Manage cover-letter versions from the dashboard, create safe copies for new applications, export PDFs, and delete obsolete documents.

Quick answer

Use each cover letter's actions to open, rename, duplicate, download, or delete it. Duplicate an existing document before adapting it to another employer, then replace every role-specific detail and proofread before exporting.

On this page

Organize your cover letters

  1. Open Resume Builder → Cover Letters.
  2. Rename each document with the role and employer.
  3. Choose Duplicate before adapting a successful structure to another application.
  4. Open the copy and replace every employer-specific and role-specific detail.
  5. Use Download PDF when the content and design are final.

Delete an obsolete letter

Open the document actions, choose Delete, and confirm only after checking that you no longer need the content. Deletion is intended to be permanent.

Expected result

Each application has a clearly named cover letter, and exported PDFs contain the correct employer and recipient information.

Troubleshooting

  • If a duplicate still shows old details, update the content fields rather than only the document title.
  • If PDF export fails, reopen the document, wait for saving to finish, and retry.
  • Download a needed PDF before deleting the underlying document.
