Alex van Leeuwen
Senior First Officer | Airbus A320 Family | EASA ATPL
NorthSea TransAir
Dear Flight Operations Recruitment Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Commercial Airline Pilot position with NorthSea TransAir. With an EASA Airline Transport Pilot License, an active Airbus A320 type rating, and solid multi-crew experience across European scheduled networks, I am eager to contribute to your airline's high standards of operational safety, regularity, and passenger service.
In my current role as Senior First Officer on the Airbus A320 family at VanderVeen Air Express, I operate scheduled passenger flights across Western and Southern Europe. This flying encompasses demanding operational environments, including Category III low-visibility operations and mountain departures. Alongside flight duties, I serve as a flight safety and crew resource management liaison reviewing line operation reports, while coordinating closely with dispatch, ground handling, and maintenance personnel to preserve on-time performance without compromising safety standards.
Prior to this, I operated multi-leg regional rotations on the Embraer E190 with Batavia Regional Wings under challenging winter conditions across Northern Europe, and flew scheduled night freight routes on the ATR 72. In addition, my participation in fleet operational projects—such as evaluating Continuous Descent Operations profiles and refining Electronic Flight Bag navigation workflows—reflects my continuous commitment to efficient, disciplined flight deck practices. I welcome the opportunity to bring my line experience and standard operating procedure adherence to NorthSea TransAir's flight operations.
Sincerely,
Alex van Leeuwen
