I am writing to express my interest in the Software Engineering Intern position at Koppen Analytics. As a Computer Science student at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences with practical background in backend development and automated testing, I am eager to contribute clean, dependable code to your data pipeline and reporting services.
During my time as a Junior IT Assistant at HavenLogic Solutions, I implemented automated data parsing scripts in Python with Pandas to clean logistics datasets for weekly reporting. I also developed unit tests with pytest to increase test coverage across core data transformation modules from 48% to 76%, while assisting senior developers with triaging bug tickets and drafting pull requests for internal tooling dashboards. This role reinforced the importance of systematic test coverage and careful collaboration within a production codebase.
Outside of work, I built a full-stack Campus Study Space Reservation Portal using FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and React. On that project, I integrated JWT authentication, established role-based access control, and configured Docker containers alongside GitHub Actions to maintain consistent local environments and automated checks. Combined with my coursework and my experience tutoring first-year students in Python, this project helped me refine my design, version control, and debugging practices.
