Laurent Mercier
Senior Electrical Engineer | MV/LV Power Distribution & Protection Systems
Sorelva Ingénierie
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Electrical Engineer position at Sorelva Ingénierie. With a comprehensive background in medium- and low-voltage power distribution, protection coordination, and substation engineering, I welcome the opportunity to support your multidisciplinary engineering projects across industrial and critical infrastructure environments.
In my current role as Lead Electrical Engineer at Veymont Électrotechnique, I supervise protection coordination studies, short-circuit calculations, and arc flash assessments using ETAP and Caneco BT. My day-to-day responsibilities also include coordinating on-site commissioning tests, factory acceptance testing, and regulatory compliance audits in strict alignment with French NF C 13-100 and NF C 15-100 standards. Furthermore, I advise project directors on practical power factor correction, harmonic mitigation, and energy efficiency retrofits to ensure safe, stable network operation.
During my earlier tenure at Navier Énergie & Systèmes, I engineered electrical network protection schemes and emergency generator changeover logic for mission-critical facilities. In that capacity, I authored comprehensive design packages and single-line diagrams for dry-type transformers, switchgear, and UPS systems, while working directly with utility operators including Enedis and RTE to establish grid connection parameters up to 20 kV. This practical background across design modeling, equipment specification, and utility interface management aligns closely with Sorelva Ingénierie's operational requirements.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my technical qualifications, regulatory familiarity, and project engineering background can contribute to your team. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Laurent Mercier
