Lachlan Murray
Retail Sales Associate
South Bank Home & Living
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in the Retail Sales Associate position at South Bank Home & Living. Having spent several years delivering consultative service and supporting floor operations across Brisbane retail environments, I welcome the opportunity to bring my customer service focus, visual merchandising experience, and reliable inventory control to your team.
In my current role as Senior Retail Sales Associate at Moreton Bay Living, I assist around 40 customers per shift with tailored product advice across furniture, cookware, and decorative homewares. My dedication to customer engagement and adherence to brand standards has delivered tangible results, including maintaining seasonal visual merchandising displays that contributed to a 14% uplift in featured category sales. I also operate POS terminals for cash, card, and digital layby transactions and reconcile registers at the end of each shift, ensuring seamless register experiences during peak retail trading.
Beyond customer-facing assistance, I focus on back-of-house efficiency to ensure smooth shop-floor replenishment. During the Stockroom Layout Optimization project, I partnered with floor management to re-label and reorganize stockroom storage racks, reducing floor replenishment time during weekend rush periods by 20%. Whether unboxing new stock, maintaining clean endcap presentations, or assisting teammates on the register, I take pride in keeping store standards high and stock accessible for shoppers.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my practical floor experience, merchandising skills, and dependable service approach align with the requirements at South Bank Home & Living. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Lachlan Murray
