Experienced School Bus Driver | Category D & Driver CPC Certified
Salthill Student Transport
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the School Bus Driver position currently available with Salthill Student Transport. Having driven school and charter routes throughout County Galway for many years, I am committed to maintaining exemplary road safety, punctuality, and passenger care on daily educational journeys.
In my current role with Corrib Regional Transport, I operate 53-seater school buses along designated rural and suburban Galway routes, safely transporting over 90 primary and post-primary students each day. A vital component of my daily routine involves carrying out statutory pre-trip and post-trip walkaround inspections, recording mechanical observations and fluids through digital maintenance logs to uphold strict Road Safety Authority standards. Throughout this work, I adapt my driving to challenging Atlantic coastal weather conditions, contributing to a record of zero preventable accidents across six consecutive academic terms.
Previously, with Claddagh Transit & Coach Hire, I drove 33-seater minibuses on morning and afternoon school routes while managing digital tachograph compliance in line with EU driving hour regulations. My approach centres on maintaining calm, respectful cabin environments through consistent student engagement, clear communication, and careful adherence to seatbelt compliance. Additionally, my up-to-date Category D Driver CPC and current Garda vetting clearance ensure I can step into your scheduled school transport services immediately and conscientiously.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my practical driving background and dedication to student passenger safety align with the operational needs of Salthill Student Transport. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Morgan Kelly
