Robin Steiner
Waiter & Front-of-House Service Specialist
Restaurant Rheinquai
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Waiter position at Restaurant Rheinquai. Having completed my Swiss vocational hospitality education in Basel and refined my table service skills across fast-paced dining rooms in the city, I welcome the opportunity to contribute to your dining room team and maintain the warm, attentive atmosphere your guests expect.
At Brasserie am Rheinblick, I run a station of 8 to 10 tables in a 90-seat dining room, guiding guests through daily menus and beverage options while coordinating course timing. I record orders via handheld point-of-sale units to communicate special requests directly with the kitchen, and I manage payment processing across cash, cards, and vouchers, closing balances of up to CHF 4,500. This daily service pace has strengthened my composure during dinner rushes and reinforced my commitment to tidy station maintenance and rapid table turnover.
My professional foundation is anchored in a three-year dual apprenticeship through Gewerbeschule Basel, where I completed my Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) in Restaurant and Hospitality Services with a grade of 5.2. This rigorous training grounded me in allergen care, HACCP hygiene standards, and dining room etiquette. Additionally, assisting with floor and tray service for international guests at the four-day Art Fair Pop-Up Lounge enhanced my ability to adapt smoothly to high-volume events and diverse guest expectations.
I look forward to discussing how my practical service background, German and English language proficiency, and dedication to guest satisfaction align with the front-of-house standards at Restaurant Rheinquai. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Robin Steiner
