Audiologist | Diagnostic Hearing Assessment & Aural Rehabilitation
Ardmore Hearing Clinic
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Audiologist position at Ardmore Hearing Clinic. Having completed my Master of Science in Audiology at University College Cork and acquired clinical experience delivering adult hearing health services in Cork, I am eager to contribute to your clinic's commitment to patient-centred diagnostic assessment and rehabilitative care.
In my current position at Lee Valley Hearing Care, I conduct comprehensive adult diagnostic hearing evaluations, including pure-tone air and bone conduction audiometry with masking, speech recognition testing, and tympanometry. A significant component of my routine clinical practice involves fitting and verifying digital hearing aids across major manufacturers using real-ear measurement (REM) systems and NoahLink Wireless. In addition to technical fitting, I provide structured post-fitting rehabilitation and guidance to patients and their families, ensuring clear communication strategies and sustained device compliance in accordance with national clinical documentation standards.
My clinical training is grounded in evidence-based practice and acoustic verification. During my postgraduate studies, I completed an outcome study evaluating speech reception thresholds and user satisfaction between prescriptive target matches and initial manufacturer proprietary quick-fits across 35 adult subjects, underscoring the clinical value of probe microphone measurements for speech clarity. Combined with my prior clinical practicum at Munster Sensory Health Clinic, this foundation has prepared me to deliver dependable diagnostic testing, otoscopy, and impression taking while maintaining diligent calibration and hygiene standards.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my clinical background and practical experience in audiological assessment and hearing instrument verification align with the clinical needs of Ardmore Hearing Clinic. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Liam O'Callaghan
