Mid-Level ABA Therapist | Natural Environment Teaching & Positive Behaviour Support
Cedar Ridge Behavioural Health
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the ABA Therapist position at Cedar Ridge Behavioural Health. With a solid foundation in delivering individualized behavioural intervention for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder across clinic, home, and community settings, I am eager to contribute my clinical skills and commitment to client-centred care to your multidisciplinary team.
Currently serving as Lead ABA Therapist at Pacific Crest Behavioural Services under BCBA supervision, I implement individualized one-on-one Applied Behaviour Analysis intervention plans for children aged 3 to 12. My day-to-day practice centres on conducting discrete trial training and natural environment teaching targeting receptive language, functional communication, and peer play skills. To ensure interventions are responsive and measurable, I collect accurate trial-by-trial and interval data using digital tracking software to track program mastery and behaviour deceleration, while modeling antecedent strategies and positive reinforcement protocols for family members to support consistent generalization at home.
Collaboration and practical family engagement remain central to my approach. In addition to participating in quarterly multidisciplinary team meetings with speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists to coordinate treatment objectives, I collaborated with clinical supervisors to design a modular four-week parent coaching module focusing on incidental teaching techniques during daily domestic routines. Piloting this curriculum with six families resulted in measurable increases in spontaneous manding across home environments, demonstrating how structured positive behaviour support and parent collaboration reinforce meaningful developmental gains.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my clinical experience in natural environment teaching, data-driven intervention, and family coaching aligns with the needs of Cedar Ridge Behavioural Health. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Lucas Vance
