Rowan van Dijk
Junior Carpenter | Structural Framing & Interior Joinery
Van Leeuwen Timmerbedrijf
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Carpenter position at Van Leeuwen Timmerbedrijf. With a solid foundation in vocational carpentry training and practical experience in residential construction and joinery across the Utrecht region, I am eager to contribute my technical craftsmanship and commitment to safe job site operations to your team.
In my current role as a junior carpenter at Vermeer & Zonen Houtbouw, I construct timber stud walls, structural partition framing, and floor joists for residential renovation projects. I also hang solid-core doors, install pre-hung frames, and fit architectural skirtings and architraves to exacting tolerances. In addition to structural and finishing joinery, I regularly assist lead carpenters in assembling roof rafters, purlins, and dormer framing from technical drawings while maintaining site safety protocols in accordance with my Basisveiligheid VCA certification.
Previously, during my apprenticeship at De Grachten Timmerwerkplaats, I developed precise workshop machining skills fabricating bespoke window frames, sills, and built-in alcove shelving using stationary planers and table saws, as well as installing solid oak and engineered subflooring on site. This blend of structural framing, fine finishing joinery, and workshop fabrication aligns directly with your project requirements for dependable, high-quality timber construction.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my practical carpentry skills and background in residential timber construction can support Van Leeuwen Timmerbedrijf on upcoming projects. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Rowan van Dijk
