Lachlan Vance
Qualified Commercial HVAC & Refrigeration Technician
Osprey Mechanical Services
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in the HVAC Technician position with Osprey Mechanical Services. Having completed my trade training in electrotechnology and refrigeration in Western Australia, I offer practical field experience in preventative maintenance, diagnostic fault finding, and equipment servicing across commercial facilities in Perth.
In my current role with Swan Mechanical Climate Solutions, I deliver planned preventative maintenance schedules across 24 commercial facilities. My daily responsibilities include servicing and troubleshooting commercial VRF networks, chilled water air handling units, and packaged rooftop systems. In maintaining these multi-tenant sites, I conduct system leak testing, vacuum decay verifications, and refrigerant recovery in strict adherence to ARCtick and AS/NZS ISO 817 standards, while also recalibrating sensors and variable frequency drives connected to BACnet building management platforms.
My technical background also includes supporting major plant upgrades. During a commercial chiller plant modernisation project, I supported the staged removal and installation of twin 350 kW air-cooled package chillers to maintain uninterrupted tenant operations. This work involved performing nitrogen pressure holding tests, evacuation procedures down to 500 microns, and controlled charging for new R-32 fluid circuits. Backed by my Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration, full ARCtick licence, and Restricted Electrical Licence, I carry out all mechanical work safely and methodically.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my commercial diagnostic background and preventative servicing capabilities can support Osprey Mechanical Services and your client portfolio. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Lachlan Vance
