Katrin Lindemann
Dedicated Primary Educator with Expertise in Literacy Instruction and Differentiated Learning
Kastanienhof-Grundschule
Dear Members of the Hiring Committee,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Elementary School Teacher position at Kastanienhof-Grundschule. With a background in primary education within Berlin schools and a dedication to supportive, structured learning environments, I am eager to contribute to your school's commitment to balanced foundational education and differentiated pupil development.
Currently, as head classroom teacher at Spreetal-Grundschule, I lead instruction for a mixed-ability cohort of 26 primary pupils across German, mathematics, and natural and social sciences (Sachunterricht). Recognizing that young learners enter the classroom with diverse developmental baselines, I introduced individualized learning tracks that fostered independent reading fluency rates across our cohort. Furthermore, I coordinate curriculum planning across four parallel classes, ensuring that daily classroom benchmarks remain aligned with the Berlin Rahmenlehrplan while maintaining space for adaptive teaching.
Promoting foundational literacy and curiosity has been a central focus throughout my teaching practice. In addition to regular classroom instruction, I organized a primary reading mentorship program pairing fourth-grade pupils with first-grade beginners to bolster reading confidence, while redesigning our central lending library into an interactive learning hub with leveled reading corners. This builds on my earlier work at Märkische Aue Grundschule, where I designed hands-on science workshop modules using observational nature diaries and experiments to stimulate inquiry-based learning.
I would welcome the opportunity to bring my experience in differentiated instruction, collaborative curriculum alignment, and early literacy instruction to the teaching team at Kastanienhof-Grundschule. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to discussing how my pedagogical background aligns with the needs of your primary learners.
Sincerely,
Katrin Lindemann
