Alexandre Mercier
Junior Java Developer
Rhône Data Technologies
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Java Developer position at Rhône Data Technologies. Having followed your work in developing scalable backend data platforms in Geneva, I am eager to contribute my practical background in Java microservices, Spring Boot development, and relational database optimization to your engineering team.
In my current role as a Junior Java Developer at Léman FinTech Solutions, I develop and maintain backend RESTful microservices for payment processing workflows using Java 17, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL. To ensure system reliability and code quality, I implement unit and integration tests with JUnit 5 and Mockito, which increased automated test coverage across core modules from 68% to 84%. Furthermore, I author database schema migrations with Flyway and refine SQL queries, helping reduce endpoint response times on transaction queries by 25% within our bi-weekly agile Scrum sprints.
Prior to this, I completed a software engineering internship at Helvetia Code Studio, where I assisted in migrating legacy service endpoints to Java 17 and Spring Boot 3, refactoring deprecated components, and configuring GitLab CI pipeline stages for automated Maven builds and Docker container creation. Combined with my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Geneva and my Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE 17 Developer certification, this background has provided me with a disciplined approach to backend architecture and continuous integration.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my technical background in Spring Boot service development, database tuning, and automated testing can support the backend initiatives at Rhône Data Technologies. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Alexandre Mercier
