Dear Selection Committee,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Kindergarten Teacher (Groep 1-2) position at Basisschool De Zilverlinde. Having completed my Bachelor of Education at Hogeschool Utrecht and currently teaching a combined early-years classroom at Basisschool De Sterrenboom, I am eager to bring my background in early literacy, child monitoring, and playful learning to your early-years team.
At Basisschool De Sterrenboom, I teach a combined groep 1-2 class of 23 children aged four to six. In this role, I plan and implement multi-week thematic units that integrate early numeracy, phonemic awareness, and fine motor development in line with core Dutch primary attainment targets. I regularly use child-monitoring software to conduct formative observations, allowing me to spot early speech-language delays promptly and introduce targeted small-group activities that support each child's individual pace.
My foundational work also draws on practical experience gained at Kinderopvang 't Vlinderbos, where I assisted group leaders with sensory play and applied interactive reading methods to support young children from multilingual backgrounds. Additionally, my work developing an eight-week sensory nature and science curriculum project strengthened my ability to translate practical discovery into structured early vocabulary and numeracy exercises. Combined with my certified training in Early Childhood Education and Care (VVE), these experiences enable me to establish an encouraging, well-structured environment where young learners build confidence.
