In my current role as a Facilities Maintenance Operative at Lee Valley Logistics Hub, I inspect three industrial warehouse units daily to identify structural wear, lighting faults, and perimeter safety issues. My day-to-day duties include carrying out planned preventive maintenance on automated roller shutter assemblies, HVAC filters, and dock levelers, as well as completing rapid repairs on interior drywalls, security door fittings, and sanitary fixtures. Additionally, I assist senior facilities engineers during the quarterly servicing of back-up generators and fire suppression pumps, ensuring that essential plant and life-safety systems remain dependable.
Prior to this, I served as a Junior Building Maintenance Worker at Shandon Court Serviced Suites, where I responded to routine work orders across 48 residential units. I handled plumbing leaks, ceramic tile repairs, minor joinery defects, and lock replacements, while maintaining weekly logs for emergency lighting checks and fire escape clearance inspections. This hands-on background is supported by my QQI Level 5 Certificate in Building Maintenance and Construction Technology from Cork College of FET, alongside current SOLAS Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications.
