I am writing to express my interest in the Mason role at Amstel Bouwcombinatie. With a strong background in structural bricklaying and historic facade work across the Amsterdam region, I welcome the opportunity to bring my hands-on construction experience, blueprint interpretation skills, and dedication to high-standard masonry to your site team.
In my current position as an Allround Mason at Gracht & Gevelbouw Nederland, I construct structural brickwork, cavity walls, and decorative facades for renovation projects, while executing historic pointing and repointing techniques with lime-based mortars on inner-city townhouses. Reading architectural blueprints to set out elevations and rough openings is a core part of my daily routine, as is guiding two junior apprentices in site safety standards and mortar batch consistency. On the Singel canal house project, I rebuilt damaged decorative chimneys and repointed 140 square meters of exterior brick facade using custom-matched lime mortar.
Prior to this, at Noordkade Metselwerken, I laid facing bricks and blockwork for multi-family residential new-builds compliant with Dutch building regulations (Bouwbesluit). Working alongside scaffolding and carpentry teams, I routinely installed cavity insulation, damp-proof courses, and lintels, achieving daily production rates averaging over 600 facing bricks per shift while maintaining precise joint tolerances. Holding a valid VCA VOL certification and specialized training in restoration mortar systems, I consistently focus on structural durability, site safety, and clean workmanship.
