My daily responsibilities include maintaining Fortinet FortiGate perimeter firewalls, managing site-to-site IPsec tunnels, and supporting remote-access SSL VPN configurations for 450 users. By actively monitoring device metrics and throughput with Zabbix and PRTG, I diagnose anomalies early and maintain 99.9% network uptime across critical operational links.
Additionally, I have focused on hardening local networks through structured segmentation and access controls. I implemented 802.1X network access control to isolate corporate workloads, production systems, and guest traffic across distinct VLANs. Earlier at Rheintal Precision Tools GmbH, I upgraded core backbones to redundant 10 GbE uplinks and coordinated with telecom providers to introduce dual-homed internet connectivity with automated BGP failover, ensuring dependable data continuity for demanding operational workflows.
