Claire Sterling
Junior Project Engineer | Civil Infrastructure & Construction
Swan Coastal Infrastructure
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Project Engineer position at Swan Coastal Infrastructure. With a practical background in metropolitan civil construction, subcontract coordination, and civil infrastructure delivery across Western Australia, I welcome the opportunity to contribute to your upcoming civil works packages.
In my current role as a Junior Project Engineer with Yilgarn Infrastructure Works, I assist the project manager with daily work logs, subcontractor compliance checks, and material take-offs on metropolitan drainage upgrade packages. My daily responsibilities include preparing and tracking Requests for Information (RFIs) and Technical Queries between site supervisors and design consultants, as well as monitoring weekly progress against the project schedule in Primavera P6 to flag delivery variances. This experience has given me an active appreciation of site coordination, subcontractor alignment, and rigorous schedule tracking.
Prior to this, as an Undergraduate Site Coordinator with Carina Civil Services, I maintained quality document registers for concrete test results, compaction reports, and vendor mill certificates. I also drafted site sketch revisions and utility relocation layouts using AutoCAD and assisted site engineers with level checks and stormwater pipe installation inspections. Combined with my honours degree in civil and construction engineering from Curtin University and foundational studies in civil construction design, this work has grounded my technical documentation and quality assurance practices in line with local standards.
I look forward to discussing how my site support experience, scheduling track record, and drafting background align with Swan Coastal Infrastructure's project requirements. Thank you for your consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Claire Sterling
