Junior Prompt Engineer | LLM Evaluation & System Prompt Design
LexiSynth Technologies
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Prompt Engineer position at LexiSynth Technologies. With a background in linguistics and practical experience in system prompt design, output structuring, and empirical model evaluation, I am eager to contribute to your team's work in building dependable generative AI applications.
In my current role as a Junior Prompt Engineer at Synthetix Media Labs, I design, test, and iterate system and few-shot prompts for internal writing assistants and customer service chatbots. To maintain output quality and mitigate model drift, I constructed benchmark evaluation test suites containing 400+ test cases to systematically measure instruction-following accuracy, tone consistency, and hallucinations. Additionally, I collaborate with software engineers to implement dynamic context injection and enforce strict JSON schema constraints through API calls, ensuring generative outputs reliably interface with downstream product services.
Alongside my production experience, I built the PromptEval Harness project to evaluate system prompt resilience across open-source and proprietary models under varied temperature configurations. This Python-based harness automated conversational safety scoring and adversarial jailbreak testing across 150 prompt permutations. Combined with my earlier experience at Verbaflux Content Solutions analysing prompt failure modes and authoring precise technical specifications, this work enables me to approach prompt iteration with both empirical discipline and linguistic precision.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experience in benchmark evaluation, schema integration, and structured prompting can support LexiSynth Technologies in deploying robust and accurate conversational workflows. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Kieran Thorne
