Rowan Ellis
Junior Software Tester
Clifton Software Foundry
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Software Tester vacancy at Clifton Software Foundry. Having developed my practical skills in manual functional verification, exploratory test passes, and API validation in Bristol, I am eager to contribute to your quality assurance processes and support the delivery of dependable web applications.
In my current role as Junior QA Tester at Severnbridge Digital Solutions, I execute manual functional and regression testing across client-facing web and mobile web platforms. A key focus of my work is validating RESTful API responses, HTTP status codes, and JSON schemas against technical specifications using Postman. When encountering issues, I author concise, reproducible defect reports in Jira accompanied by network traces and environment logs, whilst collaborating with software engineers and product managers during sprint planning and refinements to ensure user acceptance criteria are clearly understood.
Previously, during my time as QA Test Intern at Avonmouth Media Labs, I drafted and executed more than 100 test cases covering critical customer workflows such as registration, search, and checkout. I also assisted senior test engineers with cross-browser and mobile viewport verification using BrowserStack and helped maintain release checklists and shared regression suites in Confluence. Together with my ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level qualification, this experience has reinforced my structured approach to test case design and thorough test execution.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my practical testing background, familiarity with Agile delivery, and attention to detail align with the testing priorities at Clifton Software Foundry. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Rowan Ellis
