In my current role at Veldhuis & Roovers Architectuur, I lead design development and technical documentation for multi-family housing schemes and mixed-use urban transformations. This work involves coordinating multidisciplinary design teams—including structural engineers, MEP consultants, and fire safety specialists—across all project phases, while directing BIM modeling standards, component families, and clash detection workflows in Autodesk Revit. Furthermore, I routinely manage Omgevingswet permit applications, municipal aesthetic commission reviews, and zoning compliance filings, ensuring design concepts translate smoothly into statutory approvals.
My practical execution is anchored in sustainable and circular methodologies. On the De Graanloods Residential Conversion project, I led the architectural design and municipal permitting to transform an industrial storage building into 24 energy-neutral rental apartments, successfully preserving 65% of the existing masonry substructure and integrating bio-based timber framing. In parallel, I regularly apply circular construction strategies, specify bio-based insulation, and generate material passports using Madaster to achieve measurable carbon and material efficiencies.
