Julian Thorne
Senior Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor
Castlefield Psychological Services
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Psychotherapist role with Castlefield Psychological Services. With a clinical background established across adult mental health settings in Greater Manchester, I welcome the opportunity to contribute evidence-based integrative therapies, comprehensive psychological assessments, and structured clinical formulations to your multidisciplinary team.
In my current position as Lead Adult Psychotherapist at Medlock Clinical Wellbeing Trust, I deliver specialised integrative psychotherapy to adults presenting with complex trauma, severe affective disorders, and chronic anxiety. Within this role, I pioneered a trauma-informed stabilization protocol that reduced early therapy dropout rates by nineteen percent across primary referral pathways. Additionally, I lead quarterly multidisciplinary clinical reviews and provide weekly clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees, ensuring robust clinical governance and collaborative care.
Prior to this, at Pennine Valley Mental Health Partnership, I conducted comprehensive diagnostic assessments, formulated individualised psychological treatment plans, and delivered structured courses of cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic therapy for moderate-to-severe mood disorders. My responsibilities also entailed routine risk evaluations, crisis de-escalation, and statutory safeguarding compliance, which equipped me to support clients safely through acute and chronic presentations.
I look forward to discussing how my experience in integrative psychotherapy, formulation, and clinical governance aligns with the therapeutic aims of Castlefield Psychological Services. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Julian Thorne
