In my current position as Lead Speech-Language Pathologist at Limmat Neurological Rehabilitation Clinic, I oversee speech and language therapy across a 45-bed inpatient unit for patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurodegenerative disorders. Within this setting, I perform and interpret fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing (FEES) to establish individualized dietary textures and compensatory strategies. Additionally, I standardized the clinical tracheostomy decannulation and oral feeding pathway, which lowered median weaning duration across the inpatient unit by 18 percent, while supervising and mentoring six speech therapists through structured peer case reviews.
Previously at Zurichberg Post-Acute Care Centre, I provided comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and therapy for adults presenting with aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, and neurogenic dysphagia. My clinical approach integrated respiratory muscle training and surface electromyography biofeedback into rehabilitation plans, alongside coordinating multidisciplinary case conferences and family counseling to facilitate safe discharge planning. I also formulated standardized acute-care referral protocols for instrumental swallowing examinations through an interdisciplinary project, reinforcing patient safety and clinical continuity.
