I am writing to express my interest in the Dancer / Choreographer position with Calder Movement Theatre. With an extensive background in contemporary repertory performance, rehearsal direction, and collaborative choreographic composition, I welcome the opportunity to contribute to your upcoming touring season and dynamic ensemble work.
Currently serving as Resident Choreographer and Rehearsal Director at Northern Motion Ensemble, I direct staging and daily rehearsals for a 14-member contemporary repertory company across regional UK tours. In this position, I have commissioned, developed, and premiered three full-length original productions integrating live sound design and modular set architecture, while managing production rehearsal schedules and technical cueing across six touring venues annually. This work has deepened my ability to unite rigorous physical conditioning with complex production demands.
My creative practice also includes focused collaborative creation and site-responsive work. During my time as Lead Dancer and Associate Choreographer with Mersey Kinetic Theatre, I performed in seven touring productions across the UK and mainland Europe while co-designing choreographic sequences for site-responsive outdoor commissions at regional heritage locations. Additionally, through independent projects such as Echoes of the Irwell, I directed eight performers within an immersive architectural environment, demonstrating my capacity to shape expressive movement that engages specific spaces and diverse audiences.
