Maya Lin
Junior Film & Video Editor
Peregrine Postworks
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Film & Video Editor position at Peregrine Postworks. Having assembled documentary shorts and commercial digital content at Hudson Tide Media, I have established a disciplined editorial approach centered on organized timeline construction, narrative pacing, and dependable turnover preparation. I welcome the opportunity to contribute my post-production and media workflow background to your creative team.
In my current role as Assistant Video Editor at Hudson Tide Media, I assemble rough and fine cuts for branded documentary shorts and commercial spots using Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. My day-to-day responsibilities include syncing dual-system audio, generating edit proxies for multicam shoots, and preparing AAF and XML turnover packages for external color grading and 5.1 surround sound mix facilities. I also handle client revision passes, social cutdowns, and rigorous quality control checks for broadcast delivery.
Beyond commercial work, I served as picture editor for the 22-minute festival documentary short Echoes of the Waterfront, where I managed picture assembly, audio cleanup, and archival footage integration while collaborating with the director across six test screenings. Supported by a BFA in Film and Television Production from NYU Tisch and certifications in both DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer, I bring proven attention to detail across ingest, assembly, and final handoff.
I would welcome the chance to discuss how my editing background and post-production workflow experience align with the upcoming projects at Peregrine Postworks. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Maya Lin
