Having recently completed my Leaving Certificate at Salerno Secondary School and worked on the retail shop floor in Galway, I am eager to contribute my customer service, till operation, and visual display skills to your store team.
In my current role as a Weekend Sales Assistant at Claddagh Bay Books & Crafts, I assist up to 120 customers daily by providing product recommendations, locating items, and answering queries. I operate a touchscreen EPOS till to process cash, card, and digital wallet payments with zero end-of-shift discrepancies. Furthermore, I receive and unpack weekly supplier deliveries, check stock dockets, apply security tags, and arrange front-of-store promotional tables in line with store presentation guidelines.
My previous experience as a Volunteer Retail Assistant with Galway Community Thrift Hub also strengthened my retail foundations, where I inspected, sorted, and priced incoming stock, greeted shoppers, and assisted at the checkout counter. Supported by current Manual Handling certification and practical experience balancing point-of-sale inventory from my school enterprise project, I am confident in handling merchandise safely and maintaining a clean, welcoming retail environment.
