Claire Pemberton
Senior Videographer & Lighting Camerawoman
Halcyon Media Trust
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Videographer position at Halcyon Media Trust. Having followed your documentary and cultural heritage productions, I appreciate the emphasis you place on cinematic visual storytelling, location adaptability, and meticulous sound recording. My professional background in documentary cinematography, studio lighting, and field production aligns directly with the creative and technical demands of this role.
In my current role as Lead Videographer at Meridian Crest Media, I direct principal camera operations and lighting design for cultural documentaries and corporate brand films across the UK and mainland Europe. In this capacity, I regularly operate cinema rigs including Sony FX6 and FX9 systems paired with prime lenses for scripted narratives and dynamic location shoots. Furthermore, I supervise on-set sound capture with two-person audio crews and multi-channel wireless microphones in acoustically demanding spaces, collaborating closely with post-production editors in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro to safeguard tonal and visual fidelity.
My practical field experience is further demonstrated by projects such as the Voices of the Estuary series, where I led visual capture and environmental sound recording for a four-part maritime heritage series along the Thames Estuary. Managing unpredictable tidal conditions, I engineered resilient, weatherproof multi-camera rigs to ensure continuous 4K cinema-grade capture without interrupting the natural flow of subjects on location. Whether handling portable LED setups for fast-turnaround interviews or coordinating camera logistics on location shoots, I maintain a measured, dependable approach to every stage of physical production.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my hands-on camera operation, lighting craft, and documentary background can support Halcyon Media Trust's forthcoming projects. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Claire Pemberton
